Owned by James Dundon, Het Blauwtje was towed all the way to the Netherlands to capture this recording. John Van Kleef has done an outstanding Stereo recording with five microphones, in the mesmerising acoustics of the Draaiorgel Museum, Haarlem. Present at the recording, was organ builder David Burville, who had just tuned the instrument. All of the CD's are manufactured by the UK's leading duplication company. Volume 3 in “The Glacier” organ series contains all terrific 2018 arrangements from Tom Meijer.  Listeners can feast on a variety of musical styles from marches, foxtrots, classical, boogie, rags, movie themes, and tangos.  Tunes are from traditional favorites, recent decades-old hits, and more modern, contemporary music by today’s artists sounding quite different when arranged and played on a large concert organ!  Today’s generation gets a new appreciation for these organs when they hear music they know played on such a grand musical beast!  Tom Meijer’s depth of arranging on so many musical styles is on display here.  He has even provided a transcription from Gerard Razenberg’s 1964-1968 “The Arab”, and 1920’s potpourri in the style of Marcel van Boxtel. ​

Volume 4 in “The Glacier” organ series is a “potpourri” of great recent arrangements by Tom Meijer, Hiddo van Os, and one by Sjoerd Caspers. Several tunes are Tom Meijer transcriptions from the great Gerard Razenberg, Romke de Waard, and Carl Frei.  There are many different types and styles of music here, with something for everyone.  While many tunes will be familiar, don’t overlook the unknowns delivering a surprise burst of great music!   All major voices of “The Glacier” are on display here, with musical gems from Fairground organs, Concert organs, Dance organs, and Dutch street organs. A familiar tune from an orchestra, rock band, or other source can acquire a completely different personality when played on a large concert organ!  The organ has 125 keys, 24 automatic registers, and 659 pipes in five separate chromatic scales in melody, counter melody, 3rd melody, accompaniment, and bass.  The organ plays book music on a traditional key frame with an added midi system for versatility.  The large musical library is a mix of traditional popular and classical selections from many of Europe’s best arrangers.    ​

Simon Loopsta's Mortier
Volumes 1 - 4 

This is Mortier number 741 from around the year 1904. It played on the streets of Den Haag and then in the 1960’s was sold to Sweeden. Simon Loopstra bought and restored the organ in 2010.  The organ is tuned by Martin Conrads and playing superbly in this good quality recording.
